Category 1: Choosing a System
A: Each finishing system has unique strengths. The right choice depends on your part type, burr severity, finish requirement, and production volume. Each type of finishing system has special characteristics. If you know the strong points of a system, you can select the most suitable system for the job at hand. The most common options are: Air/Dry Blasting, Slurry/Wet Blasting, Vibratory Finishing, and High-Energy Centrifugal Barrel Finishing.

Category 2: Vibratory Finishing FAQs
A: Parts are extracted by hand or automatically through built-in screen separation. Giant's GB series includes a standard screen separator that automates discharge. Extraction can be aided using separating screens and other simple tools. Giant's GB series has built-in screen separation, allowing parts to be discharged automatically while the media stays in the bowl.
Category 3: Vibratory Process Tips
A: Reduce vibratory finishing cycle times by adjusting variable speed drive, adding weight segments to the bowl, checking media for glaze, or rebalancing the drive imbalance — often without buying new equipment. Many people think that reducing cycle times requires switching to a new vibratory machine, media, and chemical combination. In reality, several adjustments to your existing setup can dramatically cut times. If your machine has a variable speed drive, increasing speed will increase action. Adding weight segments to the bowl increases amplitude. Checking media for glaze (smooth, shiny media is dull media) and replacing or sharpening it restores cutting power. Rebalancing the drive imbalance optimizes the working action.
Category 4: Air & Wheel Blasting FAQs
A: Choose suction for lower upfront cost and lower maintenance. Choose pressure for production speed (4-5 times faster than suction). Either can be used economically for surface preparation. The advantage of a suction system is lower initial cost and simpler maintenance — fewer wear components. Pressure systems push abrasive directly through a nozzle at high velocity, making them 4-5 times faster than suction systems for the same work. The tradeoff is higher upfront cost and more wear on nozzles, hoses, and pots. For high-volume production, pressure pays back quickly. For lower volume or repair work, suction is often the better fit.
Category 5: General Operations & Environment
A: Wastewater from deburring contains biodegradable cleaning agents and abrasive solids. Common solutions include gravity settling tanks, flocculant systems, filters, or centrifuges — chosen based on space and budget. The wastewater from a deburring system is comprised of cleaning agents, solid residue from the media, and particles abraded from the parts. Most modern compounds are biodegradable, but the solids still need to be separated before discharge. Gravity settling tanks are the simplest option and work well where space allows. Flocculant systems chemically bind solids so they settle faster in smaller tanks. Filters and centrifuges are more compact but require more maintenance and consumables. Choose based on the volume of waste, available floor space, and local discharge regulations.
